Supermarkets should put lids on their freezers to prevent energy waste and cut their operating costs, according to a British consumer body. Only U.K. discount chains ALDI and Lidl cover all their frozen-food displays; the ASDA chain put plans for rollout freezer lids on hold after encountering consumer resistance at a pilot eco-store.
