Senate finds new angles for climate change legislation

Multiple Senate committees will consider the ramifications of the proposed climate bill as deliberations ramp up this week in preparation for a vote. Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., will lead the Finance Committee in discussions of the bill's potential for creating jobs, and Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., will discuss legislation options for combating climate change with members of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee. A likely point of debate for the Finance Committee will be finding ways to distribute emissions allocations among public transit officials, renewable energy companies, hunters and fishers and many other groups.
