Sluggish growth sparks more cuts at Vodafone, Vodacom

Falling revenue has sparked a new round of budget cuts at Vodafone, according to a published report that said Chief Executive Officer Vittorio Colao would outline his strategy Tuesday when the telecom posted its interim results. The news is similar at South African mobile-phone giant Vodacom, which said today that it saw signs of recovery, but would curb spending on international operations by $134 million through March 2010 because of stagnant growth and falling profits.
