Study: Job search may require older workers to change expectations

Some baby boomers are learning that they must adjust their expectations as they search for a new position, according to a study sponsored by MetLife Mature Market Institute. Many unemployed individuals incorrectly assume they will secure employment in their previous field simply because they have experience, experts say. "The fact that so many job seekers over 55 have difficulty finding work means such individuals need new solutions to compete," said Sandra Timmermann, director of the institute.
