Text messaging soars in U.S.

Cell phone users sent 80% more text messages in 12 months through June than a year earlier, according to CTIA-The Wireless Association®, which noted that teenagers that popularized the practice 10 years ago have not slowed down their usage while a new generation of texters has arrived. "The community of texters continues to grow as people age," said CTIA spokesman John Walls.
