Caterpillar seeks action on already-negotiated trade deals

Caterpillar Chairman and CEO Doug Oberhelman is looking forward to progress on free-trade agreements now that Republicans are in charge of the House. Caterpillar has pushed for the passage of pacts negotiated with Colombia, Panama and South Korea during the Bush administration. Congress has not voted on them, but President Barack Obama has pledged his support. The agreements would reduce tariffs, helping large exporters such as Caterpillar.
