Companies flood the bond market to tap investor demand

Corporations issued at least $10 billion in investment-grade bonds Monday, as investor demand increased and interest rates remained low. Meanwhile, speculative-grade companies offered about $1.5 billion in high-yield bonds, after issuing $8.7 billion last week. Some high-yield investors said the bonds are getting too expensive, prompting a shift to stocks and mortgage debt.
