Fed survey: Demand falls as banks relax lending standards

During the past three months, banks have relaxed credit card standards, loosened up on household lending and eased requirements for commercial and industrial loans, a Federal Reserve survey found. However, consumers and businesses aren't coming in and asking for loans. Demand for business lending has fallen, and the mortgage market remains weak, the central bank said.
