PTSD-scarred veterans train service dogs

The new Paws for Purple Hearts program set up at military hospitals in California and Maryland recruits veterans coping with post-traumatic stress disorder to train service dogs. The dogs, which will eventually become working partners for veterans with physical disabilities, spend the first two years of their lives providing emotional therapy while learning service skills.
