Amphibian trade promotes killer fungus among frog species

British researchers found that chytrid, a deadly fungal disease of frogs, is present in three distinct types across all continents, suggesting that the consumer amphibian trade may have spread the illness across oceans. Scientists also think it may be the result of two other fungal strains combining.
