Education Department launches online resource, hands over TEACH to Microsoft

Education Secretary Arne Duncan on Nov. 7 launched the National Learning Registry, an online tool that catalogs educational resources from government agencies, such as the Library of Congress and the Smithsonian. Content available through the registry also will be cross-linked from PBS Learning Media, a new resource launched Monday by the Public Broadcasting System. Meanwhile, Duncan announced Tuesday that the Education Department's TEACH campaign, an online teaching initiative, will now be run by Microsoft.
