Opinion: Greens should stop worrying about the Red Planet

Some philosophers say we should hold off on colonizing Mars until we've shown we can take care of our home planet -- but in the absence of sentient Martians there's no reason to go slow, Ronald Bailey writes. Terraforming the Red Planet would disrupt the Martian environment, but ultimately wouldn't hurt anyone. "[T]here is no good moral reason why humans should limit the expansion of terrestrial life, including themselves, throughout the solar system," Bailey writes.
