Healthy diet and lifestyle habits, such as exercising and timing meals, can help prevent pre-diabetes from progressing into full diabetes, registered dietitian Bonnie Taub-Dix writes. Getting enough whole-grain dietary fiber is important, she writes, as are well-timed snacks between meals and combining food groups that help slow carbohydrate digestion.
