NPD: Internet radio enjoys faster growth than on-demand music

In the second quarter of this year, U.S. audiences for Internet radio services, such as Pandora, increased by 27% from a year earlier, according to The NPD Group. Meanwhile, Rhapsody, Spotify, YouTube and other on-demand music services had an 18% increase in listeners in the comparable 2011 period. NPD also reported that AM/FM radio is still the top preference in the U.S. for listening to music, followed by music-streaming services, which displaced CDs.
