Floridians may face 11% property insurance increase

Florida property insurance policyholders may be asked to foot the bill for state-run insurer Citizens Property Insurance to help it recoup $950 million following Hurricane Wilma damage claims. Residents statewide could face an 11% assessment on property insurance premiums, but Florida's Chief Financial Officer has proposed an alternate sales tax revenue program to help the insurer recover, which Gov. Jeb Bush says he supports.
