Arkansas teacher educates, writes books, consults

A Fayetteville, Ark., fourth-grade teacher was named the state's top elementary school teacher by the Arkansas Council of Teachers of English Language Arts, in part because of her involvement in a summer writing project for teachers. "She's never going to be someone who looks for credit or recognition, she just does her job," said a local professor who nominated Helen Eaton for the award. "The way she does her job goes above and beyond the call of duty. She's pretty deserving."
