Ratings of Asian sovereign debt safe after deposit guarantees

Actions taken by Asian governments to boost their deposit guarantees have not harmed the ratings of Asia's sovereign debt, Moody's said. When Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan extended bank guarantees, the moves were "precautionary in nature" and should reassure depositors, the agency said.
