Analysts speculate on merger prospects for US Airways

With Continental Airlines holding open the possibility of a merger with United Airlines, American Airlines could be forced into a tie-up with US Airways, according to some experts. "I don't think it's crazy to speculate that if Continental and United got together, American would take a serious look at US Airways," says analyst Bob McAdoo, noting that American has long sought both a hub in the Southeast and a Northeast shuttle -- both of which US Airways could offer.
