EPA mulls effect of higher ethanol blend on engines

The Environmental Protection Agency may need more time to decide whether to increase the amount of ethanol that can be blended into gasoline, EPA officials said. The agency currently faces a Dec. 1 deadline for its decision. However, it is still reviewing how the higher blend rate would affect different types of engines.
