Group to fight CMS' proposed payment cuts for cardiology services

The American College of Cardiology plans to lobby against the proposed payment cuts for certain cardiology services, such as SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging and stent placements, as part of the CMS' 2010 Medicare physician fee schedule. The ACC believes the proposed reimbursement cuts would force cardiologists to close their practices and move to hospitals.
