Minnesota schools work to meet needs of gifted students

A new gifted-education academy at Minnesota's WestWood Elementary School is joining similar programs in the Minneapolis area designed to group together gifted students to keep them engaged and challenged. Teachers say the format allows them to move through material more rapidly without as much skills practice and repetition, and it provides time for rigorous projects and other enrichment activities designed for gifted students.
