Westinghouse CEO pushes nuclear power

Nuclear power could be the solution to improving both energy efficiency and the economy, writes Aris Candris, president and CEO of Westinghouse Electric. Candris says other forms of clean energy, such as solar power, are effective only in small amounts, and U.S. demand for electricity is expected to grow by 21% by 2030. The nuclear energy industry can meet this need and at the same time add 350,000 jobs over the next 20 years, according to estimates from the American Council on Global Nuclear Competitiveness.
