Amtrak: Talks with NJ Transit are "exploratory"

Amtrak says it wants to clear the record: The passenger railway is not bringing back the now-discarded New Jersey Transit rail-tunnel plan. However, the railway is in talks with the state's transit authority about other ways to cooperate. "We are discussing common projects that may be mutually beneficial, and part of that would be discussing if there's any use for the work already done on the ARC tunnel," said Amtrak spokesman Cliff Cole.
