Engineering field strives to attract women

In 2009, women comprised only 17% of people enrolled in engineering programs in Canada, and currently only 10% of licensed engineers in Canada are women, according to Ottawa-based Engineers Canada. The industry is striving to reverse that trend by showcasing how engineering can improve people's lives and increasing the number of female professors to serve as role models.
