Hartwig: Anti-ethanol editorial was rife with inaccuracies

A recent Houston Chronicle editorial that criticized the ethanol industry was riddled with inaccuracies, writes Matt Hartwig, communications director of the Renewable Fuels Association. Unlike what the editorial portrayed, the ethanol sector's water and fertilizer consumption continue to drop off even as productivity rises, Hartwig argues. Increased ethanol production has not dented corn-export levels, adds Hartwig, as U.S. farmers have continually produced more than enough to meet the needs for food, feed and fuel.
