Companies look to build workers' emotional intelligence

Some employers are training workers on emotional intelligence in an effort to boost their confidence and help them relate to others. "When I was a kid people talked a lot about your intelligence as something cognitive, but I think that in the future EI [emotional intelligence] will become a second measure of intelligence," said John Mayer, a psychology professor at the University of New Hampshire.
