Price of U.S. existing homes slipped 4.7% in third quarter

The national median price for existing houses in the U.S. fell 4.7% in the third quarter, with prices declining in 111 out of 150 metropolitan areas, according to the National Association of Realtors. "Home sales need to recover first, only then can prices stabilize," Realtors' chief economist Lawrence Yun said.
