European shares slide, U.S. stocks rise on jobs report

European shares declined Friday but recovered some of their losses and U.S. shares advanced as investors on both sides of the Atlantic digested the implications of a stronger-than-expected U.S. employment report for October. Analysts said that even if the Federal Reserve reacts by tapering its bond-buying program earlier than previously expected, its overall monetary policy is likely to remain highly accommodative.
