Why computer-science classes are valuable for students

The decline in computer programming classes in U.S. high schools should be reversed and more computer-science classes should be offered to all students, write Hadi Partovi and Ali Partovi, co-founders of Code.org. They write that since software has a role in nearly all jobs -- not just in the tech industry -- even a basic knowledge of programming will be helpful. The brothers also note computer coding helps improve problem-solving skills.
