6th-graders' invention licensed by Ariens snowblowers

Two sixth-grade students from Davenport, Iowa, invented a rock salt dispenser as part of a contest sponsored by two Iowa engineering colleges. Now, the invention will be attached to Ariens snowblowers, and the students will receive royalties for their contribution. "The word breakthrough might be a little strong, but what they came up with certainly is an innovative feature for a snow thrower," said Dan Ariens, president of Ariens Co.
