Lawsuit: Veteran groups sue over delay in processing disability claims

Some 60,000 veterans are currently on waiting lists of up to a year to receive services for disabilities, according to an attorney representing two veteran groups who on Monday sued the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. "The VA's failure to provide timely benefits decisions often leads to financial crises, homelessness, addiction and suicide," the federal lawsuit alleges. A department spokesman declined comment.
