U.K. HSE probes "undirected" cord blood collection at public hospitals

The U.K.'s Health and Safety Executive is conducting an investigation into the "undirected" harvesting of umbilical cord blood at public hospitals for processing and banking at private companies. The agency said its investigation is in line with its commitment "to ensure that evidence-based, safe, effective, and high-quality care is provided to patients and their families."
