Bone scintigraphy beneficial for knee osteoarthritis patients

A study on patients with symptomatic and radiographic knee osteoarthritis showed that abnormalities picked up by bone scintigraphy are related to knee malalignment and pain. "These results demonstrate that tibiofemoral bone scan reflects both radiographic features of osteoarthritis and the severity of knee symptoms," the researchers said. They also said the costs of the scans are lower than knee MRI.
