Budget renewed for studies on upstream work's effects on marine life

ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil and other oil and gas companies agreed to continue financing a joint industry program to encourage more studies on the effects of sounds from upstream activities on marine life. A large portion of the research has zeroed in on how different kinds of whales responded to sounds and vibrations generated by seismic surveys.
