Fed official sees CRE defaults weakening recovery

Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President Dennis Lockhart expects the economic recovery to be slow, largely as a result of bank losses stemming from commercial real estate loan defaults. While commercial real estate "is very worrisome for parts of the banking industry, I don't see it posing a broad risk to the financial system," Lockhart said.
