A formula for face time

While social networking is important, in-person interactions should not be neglected, experts say. Pam Crespo, a small-business owner, estimates she spends 20% of her work week on face-to-face networking, and says her sales have doubled in the past year. Dina Dwyer-Owens, chairwoman and CEO of The Dwyer Group and chairwoman of the International Franchise Association, adds that networking is crucial for female business leaders in a competitive market because it "saves us all time, energy and money."
