BIM allows high-tech collaboration on construction projects

Building information modeling technology helps architects, engineers and contractors collaborate more closely than ever on major construction projects. "This is really the future of construction in regards to collaboration," said Brad Hardin, strategic initiative manager at San Diego's Barnhart Balfour Beatty. The company put BIM to work on a $40 million, 30,000-square-foot health sciences facility at University of California Riverside.
