A chance for civil unions in Illinois

Illinois State Rep. Greg Harris, who is openly gay, says his bill that would establish civil unions could get a vote before the end of the year. Prospects for passage of the measure brightened after Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, a Democrat, won his re-election bid. During the campaign, Quinn promised to push for the bill. "The votes are there, I believe," Quinn said.
