Handball arena for 2012 Olympics topped by copper roof

The roof of the handball arena for the 2012 Olympic Games in London is being covered with 32,000 square feet of mostly recycled copper. The roof will also feature 88 "sun-pipes" that reflect sunlight onto the arena, saving on lighting costs and cutting energy usage by as much as 40%. Work on the roof will be complete by year's end, with construction on the building slated to end next year.
