LaHood: High-speed rail is "what people want"

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood pushed for high-speed rail in his hometown of Peoria, Ill., this week. "It's gonna happen. The train's left the station. Not because Ray LaHood says it. Because that's what people want," he said. A report by the Washington Public Interest Research Group indicates that investing in high-speed railways will help the U.S. reduce traffic congestion and save energy.
