Roads and bridges in Oklahoma are seeing repairs pick up

More than 500 bridge-related projects have been undertaken in Oklahoma since 2006 under the leadership of Gary Ridley, the head of the state's Department of Transportation. The state is in the process of completing 650 more bridge projects, as well as surface improvements to major highways, shoulder construction and installation of cable barriers in medians. ODOT will receive $400 million more per year for maintenance work than it has before -- and it received $465 million of federal stimulus money last year for state projects.
