AMD touts HSA technology ahead of introduction in 2014

The forthcoming "Berlin" and "Kaveri" processors from Advanced Micro Devices will implement technology developed within the Heterogeneous Systems Architecture Foundation, combining CPUs and graphics processing units into an integrated processing unit for a variety of computers. AMD is telling software developers this week about features they will be able to exploit in 2014. The "Berlin" processors for servers are scheduled to ship by midyear, AMD says.
