Calif. teachers adjust to new curriculum under common core

A few schools in California already have made the transition to the Common Core State Standards and many more soon will follow suit. The standards bring an overhaul of curriculum, teaching practices and learning -- as well as changes in how students are tested, evaluated and how data are reported. Among the changes are that students must discuss math in several ways as well as be able to write about it. There also is a greater focus on informative texts.
