Creativity is software, not hardware, says brain research

Research suggests that creative thought doesn't happen in a single part of the brain but is rather a whole-system process that relies on inputs from many areas. That suggests that creativity isn't entirely a concrete, innate ability. "I think people are getting more and more aware that creativity can be strengthened, fostered and encouraged," says neuroscientist Antonio Damasio.
