FAA's Huerta offers roadmap to commercial drone use

The Federal Aviation is involving partners such as manufacturers and the Defense Department as it lays groundwork for integrating drones into the country's commercial airspace, says Federal Aviation Administration Administrator Michael Huerta. Huerta outlined a "roadmap" to that integration during a recent speech to the Aerospace Industries Association. "Rest assured the FAA will fulfill its statutory obligations to integrate unmanned systems," he said during his speech. "But we must fulfill those obligations in a thoughtful, careful manner that ensures safety and promotes economic growth."
