Faculty development program at Ind. community college wins award

A professional development program for part-time faculty at Indiana's Ivy Tech Community College has been recognized with the "Campus Impact Award" from the Council for Resource Development. Adjuncts at Ivy Tech are encouraged to sign up for 60 hours of professional training -- as well as 20 hours of follow-up training annually -- through the school's so-called Associate Faculty Development Institute. The curriculum includes courses in classroom management, student advising and online teaching certification.
