HbA1C levels linked to CVD risk in diabetes patients on dialysis

Data on dialysis patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes revealed those who had HbA1C levels lower than 7.0% or higher than 7.9% had a twofold increased risk of cardiovascular death or nonfatal major cardiovascular events compared with those with an HbA1C of 7.0% to 7.9%. The findings were presented at the American Society of Nephrology's Kidney Week 2013 meeting.
