Majority of Mass. districts to pilot PARCC test

In Massachusetts, 85% of school districts are being required to pilot the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for Colleges and Careers test, a national test that could replace the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System test. Officials in the Milford school district say they are concerned about the challenges the pilot program could present for teachers, who will be faced with showing students how to take a new type of test that incorporates nonfiction into the English-language arts portion and uses real-life modeling for math.
