Starz reveals plans for Encore Black, Classic channels

Starz, under a revamping of its Encore channels, is launching two specialty networks. Encore Black, which takes the place of its Drama channel, will focus on comedy series, specials and films aimed at African-American viewers. Encore Classic, which will take the Love channel's spot, will be aimed at baby boomers and include movies such as "Kramer vs. Kramer" and TV shows such "Murphy Brown." Starz also will introduce an overnight horror-themed block to Encore Suspense and has shifted its Encore Espanol to a less-expensive Spanish-language bundle.
