Study: Netflix, YouTube account for more than half of online video

North American viewers of Internet video predominantly turned to Netflix and YouTube to provide their content in September, according to a report by Sandvine. In peak residential downstream traffic for the month, Netflix was behind 31.62% of that traffic, while YouTube accounted for 18.69%. Amazon, Facebook and Hulu each had shares of less than 2%, Sandvine estimated.
